Jim Botvin is chair of The Providence Center Board of Trustees and has served in that capacity since 2006. He was elected to The Providence Center Board in 1999 and during his tenure has served as treasurer and chair of the finance/administrative committee. Jim serves ex officio on all board committees and is chair of the board executive committee. He is also chair of the Pension Plan Board of Directors. Jim has devoted his entire 40-year work career to overseeing operations at his successful family-owned car dealership, Colonial Toyota, in Smithfield, RI, where he was President for 15 years. He is in the process of selling the business and retiring. In 2007 Jim was appointed by Governor Carcieri to the RI Dealers’ Commission and was reappointed by Governor Chafee. In 2011 Jim was appointed by Governor Chafee to the RI Commodores. Jim earned a degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island.
