THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION
The Genetic Counselor manages and promotes the genetic counseling functions and associated services at assigned off-sites. The incumbent provides direct genetic counseling, meeting with patients and other health professionals regarding incidence of congenital abnormalities, mental retardation and inherited disease and the implications for the patients for the patients and their families. Coordinates genetic services, acts as a liaison to the general public and performs other job related duties as requested.

Required Education
Masters Degree required in accredited genetic counseling or related field required with American Genetics and Board Certification or eligibility. Must have teaching experience and solid foundation in human sexuality, adolescent development, maternal-child health and issues of women’s health care.
