The certified nursing assistant (CNA) demonstrates clinical competence in the provision of direct patient care and technical assistance to the MD. Specific components of the CNA role include performing clinical skills and nursing procedures to include (but not limited to) taking vital signs; documenting patient care activities and assisting the MD in coordinating patient care, participating in improving quality of care’ establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills fostering development of self and fulfilling responsibilities as an employee at MHRI. The CNA will maintain the examination rooms; ascertain that all orders, prescriptions and instructions to patients are complete at the end of each visit. Secondary duties include front desk reception and patient check in and check out at the clinic, greet, and direct patients, organize and stamp patient arrival paperwork, requesting interpreters, faxing, scanning, distributing mail. Other related duties as requested.
High school graduate or GED required. Current RI CNA license. One - four years of experience required. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers/other disciplines. Organizational and priority setting skills. Knowledge of aseptic principles & technical skills to perform designated procedures. Ability to lift and move patients. Experience with neurology patients preferred. Computer skills (PC). Multi-Lingual skills preferred.
