Job Description
The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) or Senior Team Leader is responsible for all nursing care from admission through discharge. The RN assesses the patients and develops, implements and evaluates a plan of care for assigned patients and families. Provision of care by the RN includes delivery of direct care as well as accountability for appropriateness of nursing care delivered by Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. All aspects of patient care and the patient's response to care are documented according to established policies and procedures.  The RN communicates in a professional manner, providing pertinent information to other staff members and patients/families, including necessary education required for patient care.  Performs related duties as required.
Licensure
Current RI RN license required.
Experience

 Previous acute care nursing experience required.Previous experience or educational preparation for unit specific case types and care preferred.

Special Qualifications

 Knowledge of current nursing practices, knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and psychosocial sciences related to various ages, skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, skills in planning, organizing, and priority setting, ability to implement all components of the nursing process, ability to identify learning needs and teach patients and families, ability to communicate, collaborate, and delegate effectively, self-motivation, commitment to continuing education and self-improvement, professional accountability.

BLS/ACLS required.

Required Education
Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing required.
