Job Description
The interpreter program coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Care New England interpretation program under the direction of the executive director of professional development. The incumbent coordinates the scheduling and deployment of interpreters based on the utilization across the CNE system. In the role of program coordinator, the incumbent works with leaders at each operating unit to assess language and cultural needs and strategize to leverage available resources to deliver optimal patient care. Along with the director, the incumbent collects use data and submits reports to hospital and regulatory agencies. The incumbent ensures organizational compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree with an approved certification in medical translation required. Master’s degree preferred. Must have three to five years of experience in a health  care setting as a medical interpreter or patient experience role. Experience demonstrating high level of interpersonal skills, both oral and written, analytical skills, excellent organizational skills, leadership abilities and effectiveness within a team environment. Must possess strong cultural awareness competencies, linguistic and interpreting skills and ethical competency. Progressive management experience in health care preferred.
