Breastfeeding Educator-Per Diem

The Breastfeeding Educators are responsible for effectively teaching the series of Introduction to Breastfeeding classes they are assigned. Instructors assist in the development and implementation of new or updated breastfeeding class content. Each Instructor maintains appropriate credentialing and enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational conferences, in-services and workshops, and thorough review of current literature.
High school degree required; Associates preferred. Must have International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification. CPR Certification required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island is preferred. Maintains any other credentials or certifications necessary to be competent in area of specialty, including knowledge and skills necessary to teach. Experience in maternal-child health, labor and delivery, or issues of women's health care preferred. Previous teaching experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in the English language required.
