Job Description
The Senior Internal Medicine Care Coordinator/Program Liaison is responsible for assisting the Senior Division Manager in facilitating and supporting the clinical and administrative operations of the Department of Medicine's activities and programs. The incumbent serves as a key contact for patients visiting the department, greeting patients, explaining tests and procedures, and answering questions. Coordinates paperwork for patient visit, prepares patient for exams and tests, and serves as a resource to assist patients and staff. Schedules tests and visits, performs administrative/clerical duties, and provides backup to other staff to ensure efficient patient processing. The incumbent works collaboratively with the Nurse Manager in the development of specialty programs. The Senior Internal Medicine Care Coordinator/Program Liaison monitors the quality department activities for compliance with the Hospital's standards, procedures, and policies. Develops and maintains relationships with internal Hospital departments and serves as a liaison and representative for Patient and Family Centered Care for the department.
Required Education
High school graduate with Medical Assistant or related certification required and three to five years experience in a medical office or similar setting. Graduate of phlebotomy program highly desirable. Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills required. Must have demonstrated ability to perform in fast-paced environment and handle multiple duties. Proficiency in the English language required; fluency in Spanish very helpful.
