(Providence, RI)  -- Care New England is pleased to announce a generous donation from Cox Business to support connected care and access through technologies. The $36,000 gift will help CNE with the system-wide implementation of Epic, the leading electronic health record in the country.

From improving the patient experience with secure Internet connectivity to IT systems built to protect patient data and securely connect with other healthcare providers, Cox Business is dedicated to serving the needs of the healthcare industry. Through this partnership with CNE, Cox Business is also contributing to the company’s social impact goal to empower 34 million people to live more prosperous lives by 2034 helping people overcome health and wellbeing challenges.

“We are so grateful for this donation from Cox Business as it aligns directly with the work that CNE has been accomplishing to create a better experience for both our patients and staff,” said Tomas Gregorio, Chief Information Officer, Care New England. “Our transition to Epic is truly transformative work. Every patient’s health information will be in one easy-to-locate place. Patients will be able to access this information and see all their test results, medications, and appointments through a simple portal. Clinicians will also be able to access patient information in one place. We thank Cox Business for their support in this endeavor.”

“At Cox Business, we are committed to driving innovation forward wherever possible, and healthcare is an industry that demands we put our technological heft on the line,” said Eddie Jenkins, vice president, Cox Business Northeast. “In partnering with Care New England, we are thrilled to see this trusted Rhode Island institution move a critical asset forward that will benefit patients and staff for years to come, and we are honored to have the opportunity to support their teams in this endeavor.”
